Judge Blocks Trump’s Bid to Move Case, Keeping New York’s Political Witch Hunt Alive!

A New York federal judge has officially denied former President Donald Trump’s request to transfer his criminal case to federal court, in a decision that many conservatives view as part of an ongoing legal war against the leading GOP candidate for 2024. U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein, appointed by none other than Democrat Bill Clinton, ruled that Trump lacked the jurisdiction to move the case, signaling that the state of New York will continue its relentless pursuit of the former president.

Hellerstein’s ruling dismisses Trump’s argument that the Supreme Court’s recent decisions on presidential immunity should apply. “This court does not have jurisdiction to hear Mr. Trump’s arguments concerning the propriety of the New York trial,” Hellerstein wrote. “Instead, the proper recourse for parties seeking to remedy alleged errors made during a state trial is to pursue a state appeal or, at the highest level, to seek review from the Supreme Court of the United States.”

In other words, the judge essentially passed the buck, leaving Trump stuck in the same legal maze many conservatives argue is a politically motivated sham. The case revolves around claims that hush money payments made by Trump were somehow connected to his presidency, a notion that Trump has repeatedly denied. His legal team had sought to invoke presidential immunity to argue that this entire case should be dismissed, pointing out that this was a private matter, not a public one.

But Hellerstein wasn’t buying it. “Nothing in the Supreme Court’s opinion affects my previous conclusion that the hush money payments were private, unofficial acts, outside the bounds of executive authority,” he said. This ruling gives a green light to Judge Juan Merchan and the state of New York to continue their case, despite Trump’s objections.

Trump, as always, didn’t mince words in his response, blasting the decision as another attempt to derail his presidential campaign. “There should be no sentencing in this Election Interference Witch Hunt,” Trump said. “As mandated by the United States Supreme Court, this case, along with all of the other Harris-Biden Hoaxes, should be dismissed.”

He also slammed the gag order he remains under, which prevents him from fully defending himself in public. “Nobody can believe I am still under a Gag Order from Judge Merchan,” Trump posted on Truth Social, adding, “I DID NOTHING WRONG. WITCH HUNT. RELEASE THE GAG ORDER!!!”

Trump’s legal team is expected to keep pushing to have this case moved to federal court, where they believe it should be handled fairly. But for now, New York is keeping its grip on the proceedings, continuing what many conservatives believe is a politically charged attack aimed at derailing Trump’s 2024 campaign. With the sentencing date looming and Trump still leading in the polls, this legal battle is far from over.
