WATCH: Don Lemon Visits Stronghold Blue State, Encounters Surprising Wave of Trump Supporters
Former CNN host Don Lemon was surprised by the strong presence of former President Donald Trump’s supporters in Atlantic City, New Jersey, a well-known vacation spot for people from Pennsylvania and New York.
“Trump for the win,” declared the first man Lemon spoke with on the Atlantic City boardwalk. When questioned about his reasoning, the man explained that he believes Kamala Harris is “not prepared” to be president and dismissed the idea that his opinion was based on her gender.
The next man expressed that his “money is on Harris,” but clarified that he personally hopes Trump wins. When Lemon asked, “Why don’t you like Harris?” the man responded by saying that she “doesn’t have any experience.”
The next woman also expressed her backing for Trump, citing his strong support for the military and his approach to managing geopolitical threats.
“If you’re in a gambling town, who’s your money on?” Lemon asked another couple. The man quickly responded that he’s backing Trump for economic reasons. “Four years ago, things were much better. I made a lot more money than I do now,” he explained.
Lemon pushed back by trying to claim that the Biden-Harris Administration is an economic success, something that American voters have long disagreed with, as evidenced by months of consistent polling data. “I know you feel that way, but that’s not actually what the record shows. The economy is actually better under Biden,” Lemon said, drawing an immediate laugh from the man.
The interviews continued, with the next person also showing strong support for the former president. “It’s unfair to those who came to this country legally that they’re allowing 10,000, 15,000, or even 20,000 people in illegally. Have you seen San Diego?” he remarked. “They’re arriving by boat, right here off the ocean. Did you know Biden is flying them in? Did you know Biden was flying them in? You didn’t know that, did you?”
