WATCH: Tulsi Gabbard Destroys Kamala Harris After She Accepted Cheney Endorsement: ‘It Sickened Me.’
Tulsi Gabbard isn’t holding back when it comes to Kamala Harris. After the Vice President proudly accepted an endorsement from former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter Liz, Gabbard hit back hard, exposing what she calls a clear connection between Harris and one of the most controversial figures in American history. Cheney, the key architect behind the Iraq War, publicly announced his support for Harris, calling former President Donald Trump the “greatest threat” America has ever faced and falsely accusing him of directing violence on January 6.
In response to the Cheney endorsement, Kamala Harris said, “Actually, I was honored to have their endorsements, and I think that they both, as leaders who are well respected, are making an important statement, that it’s okay, and it’s important to put country above party.”
But Gabbard wasn’t impressed. The former Democratic Congresswoman from Hawaii, who has long been critical of the Democratic establishment, slammed Harris for celebrating the endorsement. “Dick Cheney has just made the choice very clear. A vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for Dick Cheney, the architect of everything that has gone wrong in the Middle East for the last few decades,” Gabbard declared.
This isn’t the first time Gabbard has taken Harris to task. During the 2020 Democratic primary, Gabbard famously dismantled Harris’ record as California’s attorney general in a debate, which many believe contributed to Harris’ early exit from the race. Since then, Gabbard has left the Democratic Party altogether, citing her disappointment with the direction of the party’s leadership. And earlier this month, she took things a step further by endorsing former President Donald Trump.
Speaking to Tucker Carlson Tonight, Gabbard stressed that Harris’ record cannot be separated from her role in the Biden administration. “She’s been there, working in the White House the last three and a half years alongside Joe Biden,” Gabbard said, referring to Harris’ claim of being “the last person in the room” when key decisions were made. “She’s been the last one in the room, according to her, as these big decisions are being made. But we look at who she says… her response to the Dick Cheney announcement today was that she was honored to have his endorsement.”

Gabbard didn’t stop there. Turning to the crowd during her appearance with Carlson, she added, “We’ve got military veterans in the house. Got a lot of you who probably served in the Middle East like I did. And so it sickened me, Tucker, to read those words today.” Her remarks struck a chord with many who have long been critical of Cheney’s foreign policy legacy, which Gabbard argues led to chaos in the Middle East and cost thousands of American lives.
The endorsement from Dick Cheney has raised eyebrows across the political spectrum. While Harris has embraced the support, many voters remember Cheney’s controversial role in promoting the Iraq War, which led to years of conflict in the Middle East. Gabbard, herself a veteran who served in Iraq, has always been vocal in her opposition to Cheney’s policies, and she wasted no time making it clear that she believes Harris’ alignment with the Cheney family should be a dealbreaker for voters.
“And we got military veterans in the house. Got a lot of you who probably served in the Middle East like I did. And so it sickened me, Tucker, to read those words today,” Gabbard emphasized, showing her disdain for Harris’ willingness to embrace the Cheney endorsement. For Gabbard, this is just one more sign that Harris and the Democratic establishment are far removed from the interests of everyday Americans.
Gabbard’s scathing remarks come as the 2024 election heats up, with Harris vying for the presidency. Her connection to establishment figures like the Cheneys could become a significant talking point for voters who feel disillusioned by decades of failed foreign policy. For now, Gabbard is making it clear that Harris cannot distance herself from her record or from the endorsements she chooses to embrace.
With her fiery rhetoric and no-nonsense approach, Gabbard’s criticism of Harris is resonating with conservatives, independents, and even disillusioned Democrats who are questioning the direction of the party and the leaders it elevates. As Gabbard put it, “A vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for Dick Cheney,” and that’s a message she intends to keep pushing as the race for the White House continues to heat up.
